THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE DOODLE LIBRARY
A little privacy.
Updated October 29, 2026. This page describes the information used by Coffee Doodle Art’s library, operated by Michael Silverman.
Browsing, hearts, and votes
You can browse without signing in. A first-party session cookie distinguishes visitors and protects form submissions. The library stores hearts, active viewing time, downvotes, and tag or title votes against an opaque visitor identifier. Hearts and viewing time contribute to public rankings. Anonymous visitor identifiers are not displayed publicly. Viewing time is counted while the library is visible, focused, and recently active, subject to daily limits.
To limit abuse, the library uses an hourly, salted hash of an IP address for request counters. The community database does not store the raw IP address in those counters. Old counters and viewing tokens are cleared during later activity. The hosting provider may separately retain ordinary web-server logs, including IP addresses and requested pages.
Google and GitHub sign-in
Signing in asks the selected provider for basic profile information. The library uses your provider account identifier to recognize you and your display name to attribute contributions. It does not request access to your Google Drive, Google Photos, GitHub repositories, contacts, or email. Provider access tokens are discarded after the server verifies your identity.
Sign-in uses Google or GitHub’s own pages and is also subject to that provider’s privacy policy: Google or GitHub. Signing out ends the library’s current sign-in session.
Names, tags, and comments
Comments, proposed titles, tags, and their vote totals are public. Your display name appears beside comments and titles you submit. An internal hash of your provider identity links those contributions to you. Please post information you are comfortable sharing publicly.
Authors can remove their own comments and title suggestions. The curator can moderate contributions and choose official artwork titles. Removed contributions are hidden from the public; their stored records may remain available to the operator for moderation. Votes and other contribution records remain until the operator removes them.
Private studio
Draft artworks, source-machine paths, image-fix requests, and fix notes are available only through curator access. The public library serves published artwork. Uploaded originals are retained for the archive.
Other requests and storage
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which makes a request from your browser to Google. Artwork and community records are stored on the site’s hosting server. The application does not include an advertising or analytics service, and does not sell your contribution or sign-in data.
Contact and removal requests
For questions or to request removal of contributions or associated account data, contact michael@silverwaregames.com. Include the artwork or contribution links and the display name or provider involved. Do not send passwords or sign-in tokens.
